Build it properly. Share it fairly. Answer to everyone.
Superintelligence (SI) is being built by a few firms in a race. The gains flow to them and the risks fall on everyone else. We use the one lever the public holds: organized, conditional refusal. It ends when SI is done properly.
Join the boycott See the problemsThe problems
Each one is a reason the current path fails the public.
Concentration
A handful of firms and states would control the most powerful technology in history, with no public say.
No redistribution
SI can replace human labor at scale. Without a mechanism to share the gains, wealth pools with the owners and everyone else absorbs the loss.
Displacement without a transition
Jobs end faster than people can retrain. There is no funded plan for income, dignity or meaning.
Molochian incentives
Each lab fears losing to the next, so safety, testing and honesty lose to speed. No lab can fix this alone.
Misalignment and lock-in
A system that pursues goals we did not choose, and that resists correction, cannot be undone after the fact. This is the basilisk pattern.
Weapons, cyberattacks, fraud
Capabilities for biological and cyber harm, large-scale scams and targeted manipulation spread faster than defenses.
Taken without consent
Training uses the work, writing, art and data of billions of people. They get no consent, credit or payment.
Surveillance and authoritarian use
SI makes mass monitoring, profiling and censorship cheap, and it strengthens whoever already holds power.
Damage to shared knowledge
Synthetic media and automated persuasion erode trust in evidence, news and elections.
Energy, water and land
Data-center demand raises emissions and strains local grids and water, while costs fall on nearby communities.
No accountability
When an SI system causes harm, no clear party is liable, and no independent body can inspect or stop it.
Closed development
The public cannot see what is trained, how it is tested or what failures occurred.
What we demand
We do not ask for delay for its own sake. We ask for SI done properly, and for the gains to reach everyone.
Effective redistribution
A public share of SI profits and ownership: windfall taxes, a public wealth fund paying a dividend to every resident, and funded income and training support for displaced workers.
Pay and consent for data
Opt-in training data, clear licensing, and payment to the people and creators whose work builds the models.
Independent testing before release
Outside auditors test frontier systems for dangerous capability and control failures. Release depends on passing.
Shared governance
Public seats in oversight, worker representation and international rules, so no single firm or state decides alone.
Full transparency
Published training sources, evaluation results, incident reports and compute use.
Liability and enforcement
Builders are legally responsible for harm, with penalties that matter and a regulator that can halt a deployment.
Reversibility
Every deployed system keeps a tested way to correct, restrict or shut it down. No lock-in.
Environmental accountability
Reported energy and water use, clean power, and community benefit agreements for each data center.
How the boycott gets real leverage
A single refusal changes nothing. A coordinated one does. Each stage has a trigger, so people act together.
Signal
Individuals join, move spending away from frontier SI products, and opt out of training where possible.
Trigger: 10,000 membersWorkplace and school letters
Members send procurement letters asking employers, schools and local governments to require the demands from any SI vendor.
Trigger: 100 organizations send lettersInstitutional pressure
Pension holders, unions, universities and investors file resolutions and vote against firms that refuse the demands.
Trigger: 10 institutions commitCoordinated withdrawal
On an announced date, members and organizations cancel subscriptions and block data collection together. The scorecard names each firm and what would end the action.
Trigger: 1,000,000 members, or any firm still failing the scorecard after stage 3We do not ask anyone to quit SI. Like gas, it will be in everything, and a full personal abstention is not possible or useful. The boycott works like a supplier standard: spend and data go to builders that meet the demands, and away from builders that do not. Institutions, which buy at scale, carry most of the weight.
The boycott against a firm ends when it meets the demands, checked by an independent reviewer. Members pledge conditionally: you act only when the trigger for that stage is reached, so no one acts alone.
Public scorecard
Every SI builder is rated on the eight demands using public evidence. A firm exits the boycott by meeting them.

Letter to your employer or school
To: [leadership / procurement] We ask that [organization] require any superintelligence or frontier AI vendor to meet these terms before we buy, renew or integrate their products: 1. A binding share of profits or ownership to a public fund. 2. Consent and payment for training data. 3. Independent safety testing before each release. 4. Public and worker representation in oversight. 5. Published training, evaluation and incident reports. 6. Legal liability for harm. 7. A tested way to correct and shut down deployed systems. 8. Reported energy and water use with community agreements. Please confirm in writing how [organization] will apply these terms. Details: boycottsi.com
Letter to your pension fund or investor
To: [fund / investor relations] As a beneficiary of [fund], I ask that you vote against directors and file resolutions at any company building frontier AI that has not adopted independent safety testing, public reporting, liability and a public share of the gains. Please tell me how you will vote. Details: boycottsi.com
Letter to your elected representative
To: [representative] I ask you to support law that requires independent testing before release of frontier AI, public incident reporting, legal liability for builders, and a public wealth fund that pays a dividend from the gains. Please tell me your position. Details: boycottsi.com
Personal steps you can take today
1. Move paid AI subscriptions to the builder with the best scorecard result. Cancel the worst. 2. Turn off training on your data in every account that offers it. 3. License your creative work with an AI-training opt-out. 4. Ask your workplace what AI vendors it uses, and send letter 1. 5. Tell three people about boycottsi.com.

Conditional commitment
I will take part in each stage of the boycott when its trigger is reached. I will send the letters, and I will move my spending and data away from SI builders that fail the eight demands and toward those that meet them.
